The End of the 1st Semester
The first semester at the New Prep came to an end on February 3, 1920 with the public reading of marks by Georgetown University president, Rev. John B. Creeden, S. J. Between January 28-31, students had taken both written and oral examinations. Now, shortly after noon, on February 3rd, they assembled in the library "with much trepidation," according to The Newprep News, "to hear the story of a term well-spent or a half-year of neglected opportunities."
Alejandro Angel topped the list of honor students with a general average of 93% and a 98% in Algebra, a course ""the marks of which are not included in the general average." Fr. Creeden congratulated the leaders of the class and privately expressed his satisfaction to the faculty at the small number of "conditional" students.
