Ms. Gina Rentz joined Georgetown Prep in June as the Director of Human Resources. She was born in raised in Texas and lived most of her years in Dallas.

Tell us about yourself.

I studied at the University of Texas at El Paso and majored in Journalism with a concentration in Advertising and Public Relations. After working in communications in the oil industry for many years, I relocated to this area and began my career in Human Resources, working for an employee benefits consulting firm in D.C. During this time I met my husband, and we started our family; we have two daughters. So that I could be closer to home, I began working within a publishing organization in Potomac and Rockville and was there for 25 years. Most recently I worked in Human Resources at the Holton-Arms School. I'm a born and raised Texan but am also proud to call Maryland my home.

What were you like in high school?

In high school in Dallas, Texas, I enjoyed athletics and participated in track and field, and also tennis. I was also a member of the Spanish club and enjoyed learning the culture and would attend various retreats and excursions to San Antonio, and various west Texas areas. My favorite subjects were English and Spanish and I remember my wonderful and encouraging teachers well in these subject areas.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why?

The Chesapeake Bay area is so beautiful and we love to visit the small towns. I can envision living in the bay area some day.

Where is your favorite place you have visited?

Road trips are my favorite - driving through all kinds of beautiful scenery -Louisiana, through Texas, Arkansas, California, up the eastern coast through Maine, Connecticut, Vermont - I have loved the road trips and do not have a favorite, but the Outer Banks of North Carolina is our family's perfect getaway each year.

What is your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement comes from having a fulfilling career, and a wonderful family to come home to - so having a balanced life is something I call my greatest achievement.
