A student newspaper, The Newprep News, began publication with a retrospective account of the first months of school at the New Prep. In the first four-page issue of the monthly paper, the editors declared their intent to "chronicle the events of our daily life and furnish us with the means of acquainting our friends with the work that we are doing in the world of studies and sports." The Newprep News was published for the next three years until replaced by The Blue and the Gray, a larger quarterly journal that was more literary in focus. A short-lived, small paper, The Good News, was published for a brief period between 1923 and 1924. The Little Hoya, the School's current paper, was first published in 1935.
