Jim Boland '74 was named the Catholic Business Network of Montgomery County's Business Person of the Year. Jim, a member of Georgetown Prep's Board of Trustees and the co-chair of the recently announced For the Greater Glory: Georgetown Prep's Legacy Campaign, will be honored at the organization's 26th annual Gala on Friday, November 22.
Jim serves at the President and CEO of Boland, a commercial HVAC company and one of Trane's most successful franchises. The Catholic Business Network said in its press release, "Jim is widely known for his strategic leadership in continuing the legacy of his father in creating one of the most successful Trane franchises in the US by evolving the industry and growing Boland's capabilities. The franchise is now in its 59th year with more than 350 employees.
He is a 1974 graduate of Prep and graduated with a BSBA degree from Georgetown University in 1979. Jim earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Loyola College of Maryland.
