What have you done since graduating from Georgetown Prep?

Since graduating college, I've spent my career following technology and how it's impacted how consumers around the world engage with banks. I've been a consultant, an executive and GM at some of the world's banks, and the co-founder of one of the first "fintech" companies called Moven.

What impact did Georgetown Prep have on you?

I have maintained a host of Georgetown Prep friendships through the years. When I started Moven, many Prep friends and gave me critical advice and support along the way. Steve Drobny and Jim Luchesse helped influence an early VC for me. Kevin Plank was an early investor and advisor. Chris Wells as an investor. Just this summer, I spoke at an industry conference that Drobny's Venture Capital firm put together. All of the Sion brothers went to Prep, and I'd say that the Prep network has been a central one to our family through our lives. At Prep, I learned what it takes to be a vision-driven leader, have grit, and to make bold bets.

What advice do you have for current Prep students?

In high school, it's easy to emphasize and focus on the "what" of your educational experience: What subjects you take, the content that you learn, the skills you pick up. And a Georgetown Prep education is first class. In the long run, though I believe that the "how" becomes far more important than the "what." How you treat your family, friends, and colleagues; how you make decisions, how you react to adversity, pressure, and stress; the principles and values by which you live your life. Looking back, what Prep taught me about the "how" is the stuff that stuck and differentiates Prep kids from others.
