Coach Dan Paro '79 and the Georgetown Prep varsity football team won the 2018 Interstate Athletic Conference (I.A.C.) title on November 9 with a 21-5 victory over host Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland.
Bullis scored the game's first points after a blocked punt lead to a safety. In the second quarter, quarterback Peter Davin '19 connected with Andrew Johnston '19 for a 74-yard touchdown. Prep would go into halftime with a 7-2 lead.
After a Bullis field goal midway through the third quarter, Davin found Emmett Scanlon '19 for a 75-yard touchdown. Davin found Johnston again late in the third quarter to increase Prep's lead to 21-5.
In the fourth quarter, defensive backs, John Howley '19 and Justin Clark '19, came up with two interceptions to secure the Hoyas' victory. Read The Washington Post's full recap of the game.
In I.A.C. conference play, the Hoyas' defense only allowed 32 points from opponents in five games and the Prep offense scored 156 points.
Prep finished the season with an 8-1 record and 5-0 in the I.A.C. Prep is ranked #9 in the latest Washington Post's high school football poll.
